Profile:

“For me, photography is a process of discovery. Discovery, which often comes as I encounter the world around me, by studying the images I create, or by exploring the potential of the media I use. I prefer not to depict subjects as the sum of their parts, but rather, offer a closer look at their parts–the components that form the essence of their being. My images offer a second chance to explore and reflect upon some of those small wonders and often fleeting moments we frequently overlook or take for granted.”

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, USA in 1948. Grew up in the small factory town of Roebling. I received a BA in fine arts and certification in art education in 1970 at Montclair State College and began teaching art in a New Jersey high school. I continued my art education while teaching and earned my MFA degree in printmaking in 1976 at Pratt Institute. My thesis work combined both serigraphy and photography.  From 1970–2004, I pursued a career in art education. During that time, I taught art at two New Jersey high schools. I currently live in Andover Township, NJ.

In addition to regularly showing my work at the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Gallery I have been participating in a variety of juried group shows. These include shows at the George Segal Gallery, Montclair State University; Target Gallery, Alexandria, VA; Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton, NJ; Gallery 14, Hopewell, NJ; Gallery 125, Trenton, NJ; Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts, Fredericksburg, VA; Center for the Arts in Southern New Jersey, Marlton, NJ; Griffin Gallery, Madison, NJ; and L.I.T.M Gallery, Jersey City, NJ. I was also named Artist of the Month in 2007 by JerseyArts.com and featured on their Web Gallery.
