14th Annual Town and Country Garden/Historic Home Tour
This is the 14th year the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will host a self-guided tour through magnificent gardens and historic homes. The Annual Town and Country Garden/Historic Home Tour will be held on Saturday, June 16; the rain date is June 17. The tour starts from the Council's office in Newton, where participants receive a guidebook with a map. Newton, Fredon, Green and Stillwater will be the tour area this year. All homes and gardens will available for touring from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving participants ample time to meander at their own pace, while enjoying the day, learning a little, and seeing some of the beauty man can help nature to create. Restaurants along the way will be offering lunch and a respite; some will be offering discounts to tour participants. Besides insightful material on the homes and gardens that will be visited, the tour’s guidebook includes the locations for the discounts, gardening tips and other useful information. On the day of the tour the Council will open at 9:00 a.m., guide books will then be available for pick-up and patrons who have not yet registered may do so.

The Council is located at 133 Spring Street in Newton, NJ. Summer hours are Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information is available on the Council’s website www.scahc.org or by calling 973-383-0027.
