Summer Art Camp for Kids at the Arts Council
The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council is again offering alternate activities for children to get involved in during their summer break from the classrooms. Activities where children can have fun, be creative, and learn. For two weeks this summer, July 9 through 13 and July 16 through 20, the Council will be hosting “Summer Art Camp for Kids,” an exploration of art mediums for children entering fourth through eighth grades. Camp is from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a different art form taught each day by a professional artist contracted to teach at “Art Camp”. Once the schedule is finalized, a complete list of the instructors and their classes will be available on the Council’s website www.scahc.org. The final day of camp is a student art show and celebration. Parents are invited join the festivities and see what art campers can accomplish when fun, learning and creating join together.
Camp is held at the Arts Council’s office at 133 Spring Street in Newton, NJ. Enrollment is $100 for one week and $175 for two weeks. The Council’s summer hours are Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can also register by going to http://2012summercamp.eventbrite.com/.
