About Ann Smiga Greene:

Ann Smiga Greene www.annsmigagreene.com

Ann received a BS degree in Medical (Laboratory) Technology and pursued a career in the healthcare industry. Her artistic journey began after graduation when she took a watercolor class at the local high school. It was 'love at first splash' the first time she saw cerulean blue pigment blossom on wet watercolor paper. She painted for fun while she continued in her career as a lab tech and then as an information technology analyst. In 2004 Ann determined to get more serious about her artwork. She began to take workshops with well-known, accomplished artists whose work she admired. These gifted artists include Barbara Nechis, Frank Webb, Eric Weigardt, Karen Rosasco, Pat Dews, Judi Betts, Gerald Brommer, Skip Lawrence, Nancy Barch, Ratindra Das, Sterling Edwards, Fabio Cembranelli, Robert Burridge, and Linda Kemp. From each of these esteemed artists and from each workshop, Ann gained additional knowledge and techniques with which to bolster her own evolving expertise. Ann now paints on a regular basis in her home studio located in the beautiful, rural farm country of Sussex County, NJ. She teaches a watercolor class at the local high school, as well as classes in her home. She paints in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media.
