Sussex County Arts &   Heritage Council

2024 Regrant Recipients 

Sussex County is fortunate to have a number of engaging and enthusiastic art, cultural, and heritage non-profit organizations in addition to helping individuals in social programs such as SCARC. These county organizations rely on financial support from the Arts and Heritage Council. SCAHC is able to help support these groups by securing grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical Commission, and in turn, distributes these grant funds to the individual art and history organizations.

The organizations supported by the 2024 Regrant Program are listed below.


Community Choral Society

Provides members and the community in general with concert choral music. They also partner with other local vocal groups to add diversity and interest to their concerts.

Harmony in Motion 

An organization dedicated to the promotion of women’s a cappella singing in the barbershop style through quality performance and education. They aspire to achieve musical excellence while creating a spirit of unity, enthusiasm, and fun.

Luna Parc 

An arts colony and visionary art environment that teaches apprentices hand working and business skills necessary to succeed as self-supporting artists.

New Sussex Symphony 

A full symphony that performs symphonic music from masters of past centuries and composers of the present day in order to teach audiences and encourage student musicians.

No Strings A Cappella

No Strings A Cappella of Sussex County New Jersey was offers a mixed repertoire of popular and jazz as well as classical. They aim to reach more people in more places with their unique music.

SCARC (Art SPS) 

SCARC is committed to pursuing and providing community -based options that will best meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families with respect, flexibility, and an ongoing commitment to providing quality services and supports.

Sussex County Art Society 

An organization dedicated to creating and developing an artistic environment for the cultural enrichment of the people of Sussex County through workshops, films, showings of work, demonstrations, lectures, and other educational endeavors and trips.

Sparta Historical Society, Inc. 

Sparta Historical Society, Inc. 

Sparta Historical Society, Inc. preserves our local arts, history and natural sciences while presenting their wonder to the community through diverse museum exhibits and educational programs.


Special Projects



Sussex Oratorio Society 

A quality choral group exploring choral singing, and  instrumental accompaniments to enlighten and educate audiences across New Jersey. They offer a diverse repertoire, singing various genres of music from all over the world.

Sussex County Youth Orchestras 

Dedicated to providing young musicians with the opportunity to develop their musical talents to their fullest potential.

Sussex County Teen Arts

Teen Arts celebrates the diverse artistic accomplishments of New Jersey students and Schools and encourages the creativity of young students by giving them the opportunity to exhibit, publish, or perform before a variety of audiences and professionals.

North Star Theater Company 

An organization dedicated to providing an inclusive environment to train and foster the talents of all participants at every age and level of experience through quality theatrical production.

Skyland Performing Arts Center

A corporation dedicated to providing programs that educate, entertain, and inspire all audiences regardless of ethnicity, age, or income level.

Alpha Arts Institute (AAI) 

The newly established Alpha Arts Institute (AAI) at Sussex features professional artists in the visual, performing, and literary fields.

Funding of the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council has been made available in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, a division of the NJ Department of State and a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State/County Partnership Block Grant Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council. Additional funding has been made available in part by the New Jersey Historical Commission through the County History Partnership Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council. Partial funding provided by the Sussex County Board of Commissioners.
