Get your kids involved with the arts and away from their screens this summer with SCAHC’s Children’s Summer Classes!

You and your child will awaken your inner artist with this Acrylic Pour Class no matter your ability. Acrylic Pouring is a fluid art technique which is poured on a canvas using a variety of tools to create an abstract design. Relax and be adventurous using sink strainers to create a flower type pattern, and a straight ring pour with tilting or spinning. Choose and pick your own colors, have fun, and see what you create!

The ticket price includes 1 adult and 1 child aged 6 or over. Both the parent and child will be able to create their own Acrylic Pour pieces, which will be left at SCAHC to dry and be ready for pick-up the following week. Children MUST be accompanied by a parent. If you wish to sign up more than 1 child, or only want to accompany your child without participating in the class, you can call SCAHC’s office at (973) 383-0027 or email scahc@scahc.org for additional pricing.

On a green background, there is text that reads “Check out the instructor’s example!” above a colorful acrylic pour piece. The piece is swirls of red, pink, yellow, and green in bright, vibrant waves of color.

"'Beginner Acrylic Painting Class" in a handwritten type.

Treat yourself to a relaxing painting session at SCAHC with SuzAnne Pacala.  This class is designed for the novice painter - even if you've never painted before, you will be able to complete a summer-themed painting inspired by the California-based artist, Wayne Thiebaud.  His love of simple themes, shapes, and colors will inspire you to create an 11x14 canvas - all the materials will be provided.  SuzAnne's classes are relaxing and fun, with step by step instruction.  This is not a typical "paint and sip" style class, as each painting is as individual as the artist who creates it!

A smock or apron is suggested, and if you prefer, feel free to bring your own paint and brushes. Here's your opportunity to learn some new skills to try all summer long!

Join SuzAnne for a relaxing painting experience at SCAHC.  Even if you've never painted before, you will leave this class with a finished painting.  Learn how to use different styles of brushes to achieve a summer landscape painting inspired by American watercolorist Winslow Homer.

It can't be simpler! SuzAnne provides you with all the painting material and supplies (encouragement included!) you will need.  Of course, if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own supplies. Treat yourself to this class and you'll be inspired to paint all summer long!
